Manic Monday

It’s the first Monday of the new year.  If you heard lots of loud music and a crazy loud “woohoo!!!”  early this morning, that was me as my children returned to school.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my children.  I really do.  Let’s just say I need to recuperate from the wedding, and Christmas, and traveling, and three weekends straight of wrestling, and no set schedule for the last two weeks.
I like a schedule.
Later, if you heard loud sobbing, that was also me after an hour workout doing nothing but weight training chest and shoulders with my trainer.


I don’t like my trainer so much today.

But, onto Monday.
I thought I had kept a fairly clean house over the holidays.  All of the Christmas decorations are packed away,  I’ve vacuumed several times a week, and all of our sheets have even been laundered.
Then I started walking through the house.


It seems I have an infestation of paper airplanes.
{Yes, one of those planes is on top of my blinds}
I also discovered that I need to mop, iron my holiday cloth napkins and put them back in the buffet, wash the bathroom mirrors, clean the spare room which is supposed to be our guest room but is a catch-all room right now, and unpack my husband’s suitcase so he can repack it tonight….
So much for my fairly clean house!
So, while I clean today, I need something from you.
I want to know what you might like for me to write about this year!
I have some things in mind, and have been given a couple of more ideas from ladies on my Facebook page, but I want your opinions.  I’m even willing to step out of my comfort zone to accommodate you.
So please, be vocal, be opinionated, be creative, be realistic, and most importantly,
be Nice!
{That’s the mother coming out in me}

Meanwhile, I’m off to clean my house!

  2. Jen, just had another thought (from the scary mind that wants your diet advice AND frosting tutorial). Life in South Carolina, poinst of interest near you or within a two hour drive, favorite stores both chain and small boutique types, restaurants, beaches, etc. Thanks! xo


  3. I am catching up on my favorite blogs and I know this is an older post, but I can't help making a comment. 🙂 I LOVE your blog. The way you love your family, your food, your incredible story, your blog is a great read whenever I need a pick me up or inspiration. I was thinking about adding a workout element to my blog, but I can't really decide how to do it/find a good groove. You would be a much better person to write about this. I would love to hear your point of view, what working with a personal trainer helps you with, how do you reward yourself for hitting a new goal, tips on packing a gym bag, your favorite before or after snacks to help you power through a workout… Just sharing a few thoughts I had that I think you would be the perfect person to answer. Love your blog. 🙂


  4. I am catching up on a few of my favorite blogs, and I know this is a bit of an older post, but I can't help adding a comment. You are one of my favorite writers. Your blog is always a wonderful read. I love the way you love your family, your food, your story, your weight loss; your blog is always an inspiration or a pick me up. With that said, I have been thinking about adding a fitness or workout element to my blog, but I never found a way to write about it that was interesting. I think you could do this and do it really well. What does a personal trainer do for you, favorite before or after snacks that help you power through a tough workout, tips on packing a gym bag, how do you reward yourself when you hit a goal, how do you set your goals, and what do you listen to on your ipod while your doing an hour on the tread mill? …Just a few thoughts to get you started if you're interested. 🙂 Love your blog.
